Yeah, this was definitely a YA paranormal romance movie (I read the book beforehand, though, so I knew what was coming).

This genre hasn't really been my thing after the fiasco that was Twilight and all the like-minded books that churned out into the YA world after it, but just recently I've been sort of big into feeding my guilty pleasures (aka YA fantasy/sci-fi books, which all end up with some romantic subplot now), so this sort of fit the bill for me at the moment. It was kind of cheesy, sappy, and creepy, but also kind of fun. Granted, there were some mildly sexist moments (in my opinion), but I still appreciate it for what it was.

Namely, a young adult zombie romance comedy.

Actually, I have no idea what I just watched.

I know, I KNOW, I write zombie romance fanfiction, so I shouldn't be one to judge, but I'll tell you right now, if a movie version of Retaining Sanity happened, I would probably respond the exact same way.
