So this person showed me a picture and asked me, "Does this kid look familiar to you?"

I replied, "Not really, but he looks like the sort of kid I would've beat up in school."

The person gave me a weird look and I grinned. "Hey, there's only so much teasing a girl can take when she's the only non-white in her entire school. The kid crossed me the wrong way so I chased him around the room and threw him in the big old garbage can by the teacher's desk. While the teacher was sitting there of course."

"W-what did the teacher say?" the person asked, apparently astounded.

"She cheered me on, and then I went back to my desk and finished my homework."

And that, my friends, is the honest truth.

So right now I'm sitting here thinking how I should either clean my car, clean my room, or finish my laundry. School starts up again on Monday and I need to be ready, but I'm still stuck in vacation mode. I probably should head back to my apartment today so I can get settled back in and do some grocery shopping and have Sunday to relax and get prepped for the new semester, but...eh...we'll see.

Hope everyone's year has started off all right so far. :]

Happy New Year everyone! It just turned midnight where I am, so I feel it necessary to wish you all a Happy New Year, 2010!

Another year has come and gone...how did time fly by so fast? I'm not sure, I'm still stuck feeling like I just graduated high school and barely started college. Never mind that I graduated with my associates of general studies this past semester and am currently looking at a minimum of a year and half left before I get my Registered Nurse license and start working for real. Never mind that my best friend is having a baby, the first out of my group of friends, both in high school and college. Never mind that all the guys from my year are returning home after being away for two years on religious missions. Never mind all that. I DON'T WANT TIME TO GO BY SO FAST.

But a fun note, tonight is a blue moon--the second full moon in a month, something that doesn't happen all too often (thus, "once in a blue moon" to indicate something that...well, doesn't happen all too often). It's also supposed to be a partial lunar eclipse. Exciting.

Anyway, to the purpose of this journal entry. I just want to wish you all a happy and safe New Year's Eve--and for those of you ahead of me, currently living it up in the future, I hope your new year has begun nicely and that you aim to make the most of it.

And so another year ends and another begins.
