It's just INSANITY.

Journal Entry: Wed Nov 11, 2009, 3:10 PM
So apparently, according to my coworker, even though I have a ton to stress out over, I appear to be a very calm, laid back, cool kind of person. Then I told said coworker about all the stuff that I was stressing out over and she said pityingly, "...Yeah, that's totally stuff to stress over."

Well, not exact words, but close enough. Anyway, as a way to relieve all the crazy school and work and health and religion and future and family and roommate related crap going on right now, I'm skiving off doing actual work that I need to get done and experimenting with colors!

Yeah, I don't deal with stress well.

Anyway, just letting y'all know that I'm alive and still trying to plow forward. Hope you all are doing well!

(And I really don't like Jonas. I was just watching it because my remote died and I don't want to endlessly click the TV button one channel at a time to switch between channels and I need SOMETHING in the background to watch while drawing and doing homework.)

Wow sorry for the long silence! It's been a while since my last journal...

But this weekend was Anime Banzai 2009! It was...well, it was AWESOME. I got to meet =akikodate and ~Adain-chan and =theHarechan, and I saw so many awesome other people and really beyond awesome costumes (and some not that were not-so-awesome). Friday I slacked off and dressed as my version of Bellatrix Lestrange--with my cloak though, I got mistaken for Umehito Nekozawa off of Ouran High School Host Club.

Hey, that sounds like a good idea.

So after the con yesterday I dropped off at Joann's and grabbed half a hard of pale yellow fleece. An hour of sewing and glue later and I had my own Belzenef puppet! And so I went to con on Saturday.

And got hugged. A lot. And taken pictures of. A lot. And I think two people actually got me on video a few times.

I can't say I really regret it. Granted, quite a few people didn't ask to touch before touching--or utterly, painfully glomping--and that made me not so happy. And a few people had some...um...questionable hygiene. But that was okay too, because it made them happy!

And I'm an utter attention whore. I loved it.

Only regret was that I didn't get to see one of my good friends from chorale--I keep forgetting to put his phone number into my phone, so I couldn't contact him. Even after sneaking around for hours today, I still didn't see him or this other girl I know off of NaNoWriMo.

But that's alright. I had an absolutely blast with the trio from Idaho. I totally can't wait until next year!

Because that's just what happens...

...when you stick gasoline in a Sobe bottle and toss a match in.

I got a very lovely home video of that one.

Anyway, so I've been saying for years that I'll be starting a webcomic. I've had tons of ideas, tons of stories, tons of scripts, but nothing ever seemed to hold my interest enough to justify spending several years of my life working on it. And then, a breakthrough! Last night while I was jumping on my bed I had this awesome vision of awesomeness. In it I saw this epic story with all the twists and turns and secrets that make my mind so happy. I saw the panels I could draw, the dialogue that would be written--it was so absolutely perfect! I even came up with a crafty name for it!

And then...I woke up the next morning (well, afternoon), went into the bathroom to wash my face, and thought "Oh yeah, I had a great idea for a webcomic last night."

Wonder what it was.

Epic story turns epic fail. Maybe I should just do a webcomic about my zombie dream.

...my avatar is black. Only black. It's meant to confuse you and/or make you stare at it for long periods of time, waiting for it to do something.

Hey guess what? It doesn't.

Hmm...yep, I think that's all. Except oh yeah, I'll be attending Anime Banzai this year, primarily for the sole purpose of cosplaying and hanging around =akikodate and company's table. Also, I think ~AdelinaVixen and ~meowmistress will be joining me in the insanity.

I'm certainly excited.

And if you come and find me, then I might draw you a pit-chure! Or creep you out. I tend to do that quite a bit.

...from getting my concealed weapons permit.

That seems to scare quite a few people.

Anyway, I've been getting asked a lot of repeating questions from people, and since my only FAQ is on my art shop thread in Gaia Online, I guess I may as well answer a few here?

.::Informal FAQ!::.

First off, are you still continuing Twilite?

Yes. It's immensely relaxing to take out my frustration on that series in short, harmless little comic strips. Also, it's helping me out with pacing and drawing, so I enjoy them even more. I'll try to figure out a schedule so I can get them updated regularly instead of sporadically.

You mentioned that you were working on a comic. How's that coming?

I've been saying that for the past decade or so. I have a ton of ideas in mind, but my faith in my artistic abilities to carry out what I see in my head is practically non existent. Er, my faith, not my head. Someday I'd like to start on a webcomic, maybe turn a few of my existing stories into one, but until then I'll stick with straight writing.

Oh come on, you know more about the Twilight saga than most of the fans do. Are you sure you aren't a fan? Or at least were one in the past?

I have never been a fan of that series. One of my friends introduced it to me long ago (you know who you are), and I took one look at it and didn't bother going further into it until the hype was so large I could no longer ignore it. As some of my old time friends would point out, my tastes were very similar to the general idea of Twilight back then, but I've grown out of it. Thankfully. I dread to think how I would be if the series had been so popular when I was younger and more naively impressionable...

I know so much about the series because I enjoy reading in-depth AnTwi blogs. My favorite is Vampirely, which is the basis for many of the current Twilites, most of which you haven't seen yet. It's an ongoing blog summarizing every chapter in the series. I've linked to it before.

What do you like to read then?

Everything worth reading, including text books, magazines, encyclopedias, and various websites, blogs, and journals throughout the internet. If it's interesting to me, I'll read it. I'm a fan of Artemis Fowl and Harry Potter, and an old fall-out fan of Terry Brooks and the Redwall series. I am also a less devoted fan of the Animorphs, which is still one of my favorite series to date. It might look and sound dorky, but if you want a series with great character development and interactions, then that's for you. I also do like Lord of the Rings and Chronicles of Narnia, and my bookshelf is stacked with a pile of other random books, including a few from the recently finished Pendragon series.

You're crazy. Does that mean most of what you say is sarcastic?

Yes, I am crazy, and yes, I speak in mostly sarcasm. I think I've come off as being serious one too many times in all the wrong situations.
