I had to work new year's eve since a party was using our building, so at midnight, instead of counting down, I was downing cups of ice cream and Oreos and watching one of the officers demonstrate beating up one of my coworkers. Then I punched the officer in the chest a few times, and we all went home.
Anyway, today we went to go see Les Miserables. It's one of my favorite musicals, so it's nice to be able to see it on a screen instead of trying to search for a theater somewhere that's performing it. Lovely acting and some really pretty cinematography!
Hope everyone's new year is starting off well!

So, what do you do for a living, then, since you had to stay because your building was being used?
I work lots of jobs around campus, and one of them is a building manager for our student union building. It's a popular place for on-campus and off-campus groups to use for big parties, which can be good and bad, haha.
I used to work in the campus Physical Plant shops on the campus of my University (of Utah) and so kind of had some similar experience, plus helped maintain and fix building stuff. I enjoyed it!
It's quite fun working on campus. Going to miss moving off to real world jobs, brrr.
